Oil Pet Portraits

I use only the best quality materials for my paintings and you can be assured that you will be receiving a professional portrait, hand painted by me, based on your photos. No size is too big or small, so if you have a specific size portrait you wish to commission then please do get in touch for a quote. I produce lifelike paintings of horses and ponies based on your photographs.
I am also pleased to offer a framing service, as well as engraved nameplates if you would like to receive your horse portrait ready to hang.

The Process

After viewing your photos, we will choose one or two suitable poses for a horse portrait. I am able to use several photos to obtain the perfect pose and accurate likeness so please do not worry if you feel that you don't have the perfect reference photograph. When I feel I have sufficient reference material I will put together a sketch or a digital mock-up for your consideration. Finally I will put together an agreement email detailing all aspects of the project (size/cost/timescales etc.) for your approval, with a 50% deposit requested as a firm commitment to the project: painting will then begin from my studio. As a guide, a horse oil portrait painting can take around 2 months, but if you are working to a specific deadline I will be happy to discuss a timeframe.
